I watched a great lecture last night “The Richard Dimbleby Lecture”, given by Tim Berners-Lee. He is best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web.
He had a lot to say about the world wide web (www). The need for a “Mid-course correction” and about his aspirations for the future of the World Wide Web. You can see the lecture on the BBC iPlayer (or search the web for other sources).
The web is an amazing tool. Unfortunately countries, organisations and individuals use it to control, manipulate, intrude and distort. Whilst the internet can promote all that is good in humanity, it also promotes the bad.
During the talk he mentioned about a new Contract for the Web. Please go take a look… “for the good of humanity”.
It’s great to see an organisation that’s attempting to promote all that is positive. Please support the contract principles
